Sacred Roots Therapy

Welcome!

Hi, I’m Andrea — it’s lovely to meet you.

I’m deeply passionate about helping people reconnect with themselves and return to the truest version of who they are—before life’s demands, traumas, and expectations pulled them away from their own knowing. I believe that when we heal all the way down to the roots, transformation becomes not only possible, but inevitable.

I support individuals navigating grief, depression, anxiety, stress, caregiver burnout, trauma and intergenerational trauma, addiction, and other concerns that are affecting your emotional or psychological wellbeing. My therapeutic approach is integrative and trauma-informed, blending EMDR, OEI, polyvagal-informed practices, inner child work, compassion-focused therapy, DBT, and other modalities. Everything about the therapy process is customized using evidence-based approaches. Together, we’ll focus on you—your unique needs, your lived experiences, and the tools and practices that genuinely support your healing.

One of my guiding values comes from the quote: “Shame dies when stories are told in safe spaces.” My clients often share that I’m easy to talk to and that they feel safe bringing their whole selves into the room. I hold deep respect for the stories that are often carried silently, and I consider it an honour to witness them with care. As someone with my own history of complex trauma, including military and residential school trauma, as well as addiction, in my family lineage, I understand how healing can feel nonlinear—sometimes steady, sometimes turbulent. In those moments, having a steady, skilled guide beside you can make all the difference.

I hold a Diploma of Professional Counselling, an Addiction Worker Certificate, a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor with BCACC, a Registered Social Worker with the BC College of Social Workers, and a Canadian Clinical Supervisor with CCPA. As a lifelong learner, I’m continually engaged in professional development—fueled by genuine curiosity about people, healing, and the many ways we make meaning of our lives.

Originally from the Kootenays, I now call Kamloops home. I love the small-town feel, the proximity to nature, and the endless beauty of all four seasons. When I’m not in the therapy room, you’ll often find me spending time with my partner and daughter, camping, skiing, hiking, listening to records, going to concerts, reading, or being near any body of water.

If you’re considering counselling, I’d be honoured to walk alongside you. You don’t have to navigate this journey alone.

Managing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship struggles, or the weight of past experiences can feel exhausting, especially when you’re still trying to keep everyday life moving forward. My goal is to offer a soft place to land: a warm, confidential space where you don’t have to carry everything alone, and where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and respected. I work with adults and youth aged 16+ to support them and explore topics such as

• Anxiety & depression

• Loss & life transitions

• Relationship difficulties

• Self-esteem concerns

• Developing a stronger relationship with self

• The everyday challenges that simply come with being human

My approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and integrative. Because no two people are the same, I draw from a variety of evidence-based therapies to tailor our sessions to your specific needs, pace, and goals.

Together, we’ll make sense of what you’re going through, gently explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical ways forward that honor your unique life and values.

Originally from Ukraine, I lived and worked across diverse cultures before making Canada my home. These personal journeys deeply shaped my understanding of identity, belonging, family expectations, and the courage it takes to start over. I am committed to offering culturally sensitive, inclusive care where all backgrounds, values, and worldviews are welcomed and honored.

I am currently completing my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University and am in the final term of my internship as a Student Counsellor, practicing under clinical supervision. I’m in the final stages of that program and I will be eligible for full registration as a Registered Clinical Counsellor in early 2027.

Finding the right therapeutic fit is deeply important. If you’re curious about whether we might be a good match, I would be glad to schedule a Meet & Greet so we can connect and explore what might be possible.
